Method Background:

Aberrant Specrtes are one of the most profitable money monsters. Killing them can make you a substantial amount of money per hour because of their drops which include rare herbs, high-level seeds, and sometimes even a red mystic top (getting a top is rare, so we didn't include it in the hourly Gains table above).

Aberrant Spectres have a pretty powerful magic attack, so you should have food with you. You don't need terribly expensive food. You will be banking frequently anyways to store the herbs they drop, so you can bring average food to your killing trips. Its advised to bring along good magic-bonus gear like Black Dragonhide Armor to be effective against the accurate magic hits of the spectres.

If you have finished the Smoking Kills quest, you can find them located in the Desert Slayer Dungeon of Pollnivneach. Spectres are normally found in the Slayer Tower, but the Desert Slayer Dungeon has many more Spectres, and drastically reduces the competition normally experienced at the Slayer Tower.

Notice you need 41 summoning for this method. This is so you can use the Macaw summoning familiar. This summon makes your herb drops 40% rarer, allowing you to acquire more expensive herbs with every kill. I've found it to be most profitable when I pick up guams and everything harralander & above.

Aberrant Spectres are Undead creatures, so they are vulnerable to the effects of the Salve Amulet. The regular Salve Amulet gives a 15% bonus to attack and strength when fighting Undead. The enchanted Salve Amulet gives a 20% bonus to attack and strength when fighting Undead. It's strongly commended that you have one when going up against these monsters.

Method:

Start off at any bank and equip yourself with the suggested gear. In your inventory, you should have a Ring of Slaying, a 2-dose super set, macaw pouch, 5 strawberry baskets, and fill the rest of your inventory with cheap food like Salmon.

Use your ring of slaying to teleport to Sumona. Run south to the well, and climb down the well. You will climb down and find yourself in the Desert Slayer Dungeon. From the smoking kills quest.

To get to the Aberrant Spectres, run north along a narrow corridor until you reach a large open chamber. Head south-west to the Mystic Barrier (direction shown below). Pass through the barrier and you will find a ladder in the small room. Climb down the ladder. After you climb down, head north east and you'll find the Aberrant Spectres.

These monsters aren't aggressive, so you don't need to be too nervous down here. Start off by drinking your first doses of the super set, then summon a macaw. Keep the herbs mentioned in the "Gains" table and Method background above - items like Guam and Harralander & above. Also keep things that you can profitably alch, such as adamant legs, lava battlestaff, etc. Look carefully on the ground for seeds and herbs.

While eating, finish salmons first. Empty out the strawberry baskets and eat strawberries for additional healing. Around 6-7 minutes into the trip, drink your second doses of the super set. Teleport to Castle Wars using the Ring of Dueling, resupply, and repeat using the Ring of Slaying to return to the Desert Slayer Dungeon.

Background

Green Dragons have been long used by players to gain money through their powerful combat skills. It is still a very effective method today to gain money - you just have to know where to go.

Although there are Green Dragon spawns in the wilderness, its best to go to the Chaos Tunnel to kill Green Dragons. The wilderness spot for Green Dragons is filled with people, so it becomes very ineffective when you have to run around or wait while trying to get a dragon to kill. Not only that, but you have to watch out for pesky PK'ers and waste your time getting them off your tail.

Even the Chaos Tunnels can get crowded. It's worth your time to find a world with less people, because that allows you to drastically increase the amount of kills and money you get per hour. You can read our guide on Uncrowded Worlds by clicking here.

Method

In your inventory, have a 2-dose anti-fire potion, super set, 8-10 salmons, home teleport tablet, and a war tortoise pouch. Equip yourself with your melee gear at Edgeville bank.

Take a sip of your super-sets and place them back into the bank. Run north-east of the edgeville bank and go east until you cross the bridge.

From there, jump over the wilderness border. Head north-east until you see a "Rift" on the floor. Enter the rift.

Once you're in, head south and go through the portal. Take a sip of your anti-fire potion and start slaying some dragons. Watch out for the baby black dragons, because they get in the way and become dangerous if a hoard of them team up. Try to stay away from them and focus on killing the Green Dragons.

Summon your War Tortoise and store hides and bones as your inventory begins to fill up. Keep going until you have no more room to pick up more loot. At this point, if you are using prayer, you can teleport home and recharge your prayer at the alter, then teleport to Edgeville using Amulet of Glory. Otherwise, directly teleport to Edgeville using Amulet of Glory to deposit your dragon loot.

With a combat stats such as attack, strength and defense in the high 80s to mid 90s, you should be able to kill between 100 to 110 Green Dragons per hour. On average, you should be able to kill 105 Green Dragons per hour. At this rate, you will make great money and gain decent combat experience.

Mole Hunting Guide
Trading Mole Skins

Mole Hunting is a lesser known way of racking up money, thus making it very effective. The concept is to hunt down the giant mole underneath Falador by saferanging, so that you take no damage. You then collect the mole skins and claws, and trade them to Wyson the gardener for birds’ nests, which can sometimes give a nice profit. The only requirement is at least 70 ranged, although it can work with lower levels, it’s much harder to do.

Item    To Obtain
Black Dragonhide    Buy from G.E.
Void Knight Armor    Pest Control
Rune C’bow    Buy from G.E.
Mithril/Broad bolts    Buy from G.E.
Cannon    Buy from G.E.
Spade
Candle w/Tinderbox
Falador Teleports    Buy from G.E.

Buy from G.E.
Remember, you’ll be saf eranging, so don’t worry about protective armor or food – just bring three pieces in case of an accident or something similar. If you don’t have void knight armor, use black dragonhide armor as a cheap alternative. A rune crossbow is recommended compared to other ranged weapons because of its strength, and you’ll want strength because the mole has high defense. You’ll want mithril bolts or broad-tipped bolts, or something better if you’re willing to pay for it. A cannon should only be brought in case somebody tries to crash you – you can use the cannon to drive them to another world. The entrance to the mole tunnels is in Falador garden. You will see little mole holes upon entrance – simply use your spade and dig there.

Once you’ve done so, you’ll find yourself in a mole tunnel. First of all, don’t get scared! The only thing you should be scared of is if you accidently extinguish your light source – just use your tinderbox on the candle to relight it. The mole is not aggressive, so no worries! If you want to get out, you can’t get out the way you came in, you must go to the opposite side of the mole tunnels, you’ll climb up to a well in southern Falador.

Now you’ll want to find and kill the mole. It can generally be found in the central area of the tunnels. Once you find it, start attacking it. You can actually easily safe ranging it by trapping it along the outer parts of the cave wall. Just attack it once, and lure it to a saferanging area on the outer part of the wall, and start ranging away.

The tough part is how the mole wi ll dig underground and show up somewhere else in the cave, but it will be targeting you, so look for it and take it out. It will do it constantly later on in the fight. Once the mole is dead, collect its mole skins and claws. Teleport to Falador and run back to the garden. On the eastern part you should find a building with Wyson the gardener in it. Talk to Wyson and state that you want to trade all your mole drops for birds’ nests. You’ll get as many birds nests as you had mole drops. Get the seeds from them, or whatever is in the nest. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a really great seed – a surprise torstol seed has 400K written all over it! You can also use a pestle and mortar with your empty birds’ nests to make them sellable for a decent price. Doing this repeatedly can make major profits – I like to even make a tab in my bank for mole equipment and rewards.

Killing Snakes
Monster of Interest: Snakes

Monster Stats: Level 35, HP of 25, Max Hit of 3, Poisons (3).

Profit Per Hour (approx.): 600,000 GP

XP Per Hour (approx.): 22k Melee, 7k HP

Recommended: 90 Attack, Strength. 70 Defense and good chest armor.

Required: Cabin Fever Quest, anti-poison potions.

Monster Location: Mos Le'Harmless

Hourly Expenditures and Gains from Snakes

Expenditures (Total Value = 6,168)    Gains (Total Value = 598,620)
Item    Qty    Value    Item    Qty    Value
Antipoison (4)    3    6,168    Snake hide    220    598,620

Background:

Snake hides are an item that have sold for a fair amount in the past. With the arrival of the Summoning skill, the price of snake grew significantly due to its demand as a secondary-ingredient used to summon the Spirit Cobra familiar.

Due to the high demand of snake hide, and the fact that its difficult for the average player to obtain them (having to do multiple quests, requiring high combat level for quick gathering), snake hides have been valuable and priced quite high.

Even then, snake hides use to be a hassle to gather. However, a deposit chest recently emerged near a snake spawn that makes killing snakes and storing their hide much easier than before. This guide will teach you how to tap into this method in order to effectively gain tons of money every hour from killing snakes.

Method:

To get to Mos'le Harmless, you must talk to Bill Teach who is located at Port Phasmatys, or by using the charter ships at Port Sarim.

If you are using charter ships, they can be found at the southern part of Port Sarim. Select the Charter option on the people know as Trade Crewmembers. A map like the one shown below will pop-up, simply select Mos Le'Harmless (note: you must have completed Cabin Fever quest to access this area).

You will arrive at the port of Mos Le'Harmless. Run north and go into the bank.

While you are here grab melee gear and 3 anti-poison potions. You can also take 2-3 food if you are scared of the Jungle Horrors. However, it's very unlikely that someone with 70+ defense will need food.

Snakes are not very strong, so equipping just a chest armor and a weapon will suffice. This will allow you to run around more, therefore you will be able to kill more snakes per hour. Food shouldn't be necessary, as snakes can rarely hit someone with defense above 70s.

Once you are geared up and ready to go, follow the map below to go to the snake location that is right next to a deposit chest (and one with no aggressive Jungle Horror monsters to pester you, whew!). You'll know you're in the right direction when you see the red-star for the Trouble Brewing mini-game on your mini-map

There are a couple snakes in the area. Below is an image on their general locations. Although there are three snakes in the area, number three isn't worth it because its so far away from the other two, making it a waste of run power. The best strategy is to go back and forth from snake 1 and 2, as their respawn times really aren't that long.

Once your inventory becomes full with snake hides, deposit them in the deposit chest. It is conveniently located right next to the snakes.

If you notice your supplies are running low, run back to the bank to resupply yourself. Watch out for those Jungle Horrors!
